Fix Your Teeth For A Photo Shoot

Posted on

If you have a photo shoot coming up and you look in the mirror to see a smile that you are less than satisfied with, then you want to do everything possible to get your teeth looking great for the pictures. You may even be facing being in some type of video and this can leave you with the same concerns. No matter what the case may be, you probably have a very short amount of time to get your teeth looking how you want them to. Here are some tips you can follow that can be done quickly and help your teeth look better:

Have veneers put on if there is time – If you have a few weeks before the photo shoot, then you may want to see about having veneers put on any teeth that have chips or that have other issues, such as a difference in their length or shape. Once veneers are put on, they will give you long-lasting and great-looking teeth that blend with your others.

Have chips fixed with bonding – If you have chips or small breaks in one or more of your teeth, then you want to have them taken care of before you get in front of the camera. If you go with a correction such as crowns or veneers, then it can take weeks before you are able to have them put in. However, there is another option you may have available to you that can be done right in the dentist's office in a single day.

You can have bonding used to take care of the chips or small breaks. The dentist will mix a bonding material that will match both the color and shade of the rest of your teeth, so the correction won't be noticeable. They will clean your teeth, put an etching material on them for adherence of the bonding material and then hand-craft the bonding material to repair the parts of the tooth or teeth that need it. They will use a light to harden the material and you will be on your way with your corrected and photo-ready smile.

You can have your teeth professionally whitened in-office – If you try to whiten your teeth with products you can buy in the store, then you aren't going to have the results you are trying to get in time. In fact, you may end up with white spots on the surfaces of your teeth that will make matters worse. Even professional whitenings will more than likely take a few treatments to get the full effect. However, you will have a better chance of seeing some instant results when you have your whitening done at the dentist. You can also ask your dentist if they offer a temporary paint that will last long enough to get you through the photo session.

Apply petroleum jelly to your teeth – You may want to bring a small amount of petroleum jelly with you to the photo shoot that you can apply to the surfaces of your teeth right before you are in front of the camera. This will help them to look shinier for the photos.
