Posted on

Everyone would like to have a brighter smile. Perhaps you have done something in the past to damage your teeth, such as chew tobacco or drink excessive amounts of coffee, or you might just be like many others that simply have discolored teeth.

No matter the reason for dull teeth, there are ways you can brighten your smile. Here are a couple options for whitening your teeth so you can decide what is best for you.

Laser Teeth Whitening

One of the best options available is to whiten your teeth with a laser. In under an hour, you can have the smile that you want. This process is very similar to the bleaching process but it is sped up. The dentist will still use a concentrated amount of bleach on your teeth, and then with a small LED light, they will speed up the process for the teeth to change their color.

It is one of the more expensive options, but you can easily get the results you want.

Bleaching Trays

Another option that many people use is bleaching trays. With this option you are given bleach and you put it inside trays that fit over your teeth. You will wear these trays for a certain amount of time each day, for up to a couple weeks. The duration for which you wear the trays depends on how white you want your teeth to be. If you have a lot of staining, then you might chose to wear them for weeks, while others may only need a couple days.

This way can be very effective and is more affordable for many. It will take a little longer that the laser method, but still is generally worth it.

Whitening Toothpaste

For some, the best option is simply brushing their teeth with whitening toothpaste. With this you will help to preserve your white smile, rather than completely change the color of your teeth. This is a great option for people who already have healthy teeth, but they just want to brighten the smile a little bit. It is definitely the most affordable option, and the easiest to use.
